Day 3 - I love spring!

Today was a glorious day. The sun was shining brightly, the trees were blooming, the grass was green. It was a perfect spring day! The only thing that could have been better would be about 10 degrees warmer...lol

Kim and Sarah and I went walking around the reservoir this morning after the kids were in school. I actually walked Buddy to school this morning! Finally we were ready early enough and it was so nice I just had to!

The white flowers bloom on a bush and smell divine! But they only last a few days
This is the first time I've actually seen a cat in a tree...lol
Wearing the flower Buddy picked for me...and my Go Gray in May shirt

David's been wanting to get a new phone, so we went out for that...ugh...so expensive! But he's happy, so I guess it's worth it...😝 he's been using his old beat up, cracked, can't believe it still works, work phone. I'm surprised they never turned the service to it off! haha

Since I had to get dressed for the public, you get a bonus gray today! and some more pretty trees. I had to keep looking at the sweater at first, is this gray or is this oatmeal...but it's definitely gray! lol

Aren't these shoes too cute! My girls don't like pointy shoes, but I like them sometimes ;)

Dacia accidentally wore gray again, so then she had to send it to me...hahaha...thanks!!!

Let's go over October real quick...or maybe not quickly, but we're gonna talk about it anyway...

Oh, this is adorable! Buddy refused to show me his breakdancing for like a month after he came home from camp! Remember, all the counselors were raving about his breakdancing skills when he decided to perform in the talent show! Except he wouldn't do it for us! Finally he did...it's hilarious and totally cute!

It's hilarious how long he waits to start dancing...then finally, bam!
Beautiful fall trees
One of the birthday presents we got our friend Todd, who is a huge geek like me...chibi Deadpool is too cute!
Shift going to her first high school homecoming dance!!!

We went to NYC again for treatment...his chemo was monthly. This is my FB post from that day...
Waiting... Oh so very long (been here since 130...saw the doc)...glad I came prepared, but think even my 6 magazines might not be enough! Because when they finally do call us back for chemo, it'll be another hour and a half! On a side note, aren't those gray ribbon earrings great?!?

October means one of my favorite events of the year! The Renaissance Festival! Yeah, it might be cheesy, but I totally love it!!! We took Clever Bell with us, and David even decided to go! He usually skips it. He did alright...hung out in the food tent for a while before heading to the car. Too much walking! and he wasn't feeling great.

None of that dressing up nonsense for Daddy...lol
The dog was carrying a fake hand...lol
These costumes were creepy cool!
Juggler, tight rope walker, scarf dancer...so cool
Always love checking out all the vendors! There are some really cool handcrafted items!
Deadpool chainmail is awesome!
Blacksmith is so cool to watch!
They were worn out!

Instead of Halloween at school, they have dress like a book character day. Glitter was so cute! She dressed up like Tyler Joseph from twenty ΓΈne pilΓΈts and made her own book about them!

and Buddy was Sir Lancelot...can you tell he liked his ren faire costume?

And then Halloween...

I'm the T.A.R.D.I.S....duh! lol
Fluffernutter went as Harley Quinn
Shift was Castiel from Supernatural

Boom! October is done!

Remember, send me your pics wearing gray if you want to be featured!!!

Day 2 - 5 Years of Gray!

Can y'all believe this is my fifth year going gray in May? Kinda crazy! As I'm sure y'all know, May is brain cancer awareness month, and obviously, the color is gray, which I wear everyday and post pics to raise awareness all month long.

Here are some links to a few websites that have more info about Brain Cancer awareness, as well as ideas for how to raise awareness and support. Please check them out!

#GOGRAYINMAY with ABC2.org
Info and statistics on Brain Tumors from American Brain Tumor Association
Go Gray in May Twibbon update to show your support on social media platforms. I've already updated mine! ;)
Use the #GOGRAYINMAY on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc)

And remember, I love guest posts! So send me your gray pics!!!

I had nothing to do all morning, so I decided it was the perfect day for Savers! That's my favorite store! lol...I totally scored too! Found some cute clothes for me, including some gray! and shoes for the kids...even snagged a couple pairs of Chucks for Glitter and Buddy. Glitter has a good collection of Chucks going...gotta love thrift stores! Then I ran to the grocery store and grabbed a few odds and end. David decided to go on Atkins, so that's always fun...not. I'm standing there reading all the labels to make sure there are 0 carbs. At least he's doing better on it this time...he's usually super grumpy! πŸ˜„

Glitter wore gray today!
And so did Daddy!
I got all the kids one of Stephen Amell's Fight Cancer shirts for Christmas :)

We have a guest post today! My brother's sweet gf, Kristine, wore gray in honor of David! Thank you lovely!

I'm so glad spring has finally arrived! I love seeing all the beautiful blooming trees and flowers. Makes my heart happy!

Alrighty, time to try to catch up! September coming right up ;)

Look at these cutie kids heading back to school! Shift started high school! Fluffernutter is in 8th, Glitter is in 5th, and Buddy is in 1st. Growing so fast!

Glitter and Clever Bell rocking the ears!

Fluffernutter was totally bummed that she had to start school on her birthday...lol...13! I have 2 teenagers now! She loves foxes, pineapples and Marvel...so I tried to include all of that in her birthday celebration! haha

These masks were hysterical!
Y'all gotta forgive the crappy pictures...remember, my camera died 😒
Fluffernutter went with ribs, corn, potato salad and guacamole for her birthday dinner
Her big present was tickets to a twenty ΓΈne pilΓΈt concert! and the t-shirt to hold her over until January!

Things slowly got back to normal...kids were all back in school. Mumsie flew home (and my house promptly devolved to it's natural state of disaster). Shift started suffering from some health problems...she managed to sprain her ankle, get strep, and go through a burst cyst all in one month...it was not fun!

Freckles did NOT like her hat! I barely got her to keep it on long enough to snap this!
Walking at the reservoir with Sarah and Kim, and we saw this fawn so close! It was adorable! I couldn't believe how close it was.

September means football season! David and I managed to catch a couple games at the pub which was great. Any time he feels up to getting out the house for a couple hours is to be celebrated! Most days are still spent home and in bed.

Starting up our NFL tradition again... Watching the Texans at our favorite sports spot (they always remember we're Texans fans! Probably because we're the only ones... Lol) ... Waiting on some pulled pork nachos and pub sampler... Enjoying my yuengling! Happy David is feeling good today!

Just look at the fiery sky!

Apparently the girls and I managed to get out for a (window) shopping spree. We had such a great time wandering the mall and hanging out!

haha, Glitter went through a total hipster phase, fake glasses and all! So cute...and hilarious!

No break from hospitals and doctors I'm afraid.

MRI
Dr appt and treatment...which is such a nice phrase for pumping poison through your veins :/

well...lots of waiting was had today! lol...but good report from the doc...everything is still stable...looks like this chemo is working...got another round (8th) even though normally only get 6 rounds of this particular type. We'll reassess next time, after David gets another lumbar puncture to check his spinal fluids. Dr is pretty pleased with how he's doing...especially that he has no new side effects! Praise God...and thanks for all the prayers!

And that was our September...October to follow soon.

Day 1 - Going Gray in May

Yup! It is that time of year...again! How is that so??? I don't have any glamour shots for today...I've been in my sweats and hoodie all day...but it's perfect to kick off Go Gray in May! It's my F Cancer hoodie from Stephen Amell's fundraiser, and of course I got it in gray! I now have three variations of this particular design, along with at least 3 more in other designs...yes, I'm obsessed! 😍

My lawn desperately needed mowed, so that was my accomplishment for the day. Oh, and I finally reprogrammed the number pad to access my garage door. We lost the post-it the last homeowner gave us (7 years ago!) and had no idea what the code was! lol...so that's a win πŸ˜‰

See, it was a jungle!

My sweet friend Dacia stopped by to drop her boys off for a play date...and she had gray on! So, we already have our first guest post! Yeah!!!

It's always fun having her little guys over...the two of them and Buddy run around like crazy monkeys, until I finally let them play a video game. They can't stand it! They keep asking me, is it 4:30 yet? haha

Lego Movie Game FTW!

I'll start catching y'all up on everything that's been going on in our lives tomorrow. For today, remember everyone who is going through battles big and small, and say a prayer for all our Gray Warriors! πŸ’—πŸ’–πŸ’—
